Thrifting Ed. 2: Kinder Handl Community Enterprise.


KinderHandle, located in Battlefield, Southside Glasgow, is probably, definitely heaven on Earth. If you are a person like me, who loves stylish clothes and even cooler gadgets. I strongly recommend you give this place a visit.

I have taken many a walks and bus trips past this gem, and just never took the intuitive to go a wonder in. My goodness do I feel like I’ve wasted years of the thrifting experience. The shop sells probably everything you could think of, with something for everyone. 


On the other hand, you will see prices that don’t align with the norm of charity shop pricing. I personally have not let this put me off, as I have thrifted my favourite Levi jeans for £10 from here and my cutest going out bag for £3. My boyfriend also found some beautiful white Ralph Lauren shorts for £8. Every item in fantastic condition. 


Yet, It feels appropriate for me to group Kinder Handl closer to the price range of vintage shops from what the mass population are raving about, but personally I would put them somewhere in-between. 


Directions: Located within Southside Glasgow. Battlefield can be reached by many different buses from the centre such as the 6 and 4 (this time you get off a little further than Victoria Road) or by a train from Glasgow central to Mount Florida. This will leave you with under 5 mins to walk to Kinder Handl. With a little reliance on google maps, you will reach just fine. Im sure there are many other transport links, but these are just my usual.

As this blog begins, I want take you all back with me to some of my very first spots for charity shopping/thrifting in Glasgow when I was a younger student, being Victoria Road.   Victoria road is home to a heart of charity shops, such as Marie curie, Barnardo’s, Cancer Research UK, Oxfam Bookshop, and the Sarwar Foundation. As these Charity shops are all on the same road it makes for really easy access for a lot of people. I find myself most weekends returning here again and again as it is so central. The street has a great atmosphere, with many clothing options for many cultures, not just the western way. The street makes for some good inclusive shopping with great charity shop bargains.   Victoria Road may not be the apple of my eye, that blogs yet to be posted, but to get some decent charity shopping done in one short trip, you really cant complain.  Furthermore, being a ride or die for some some good vegetarian/vegan scran there’s also a good few wee stops on this...

Thrifting Ed. 3: Car Boot Sale Edition.

I bet you didn't expect this! This blog IS about thrifting but just hang on with me for a second here... £7!!!! This is what I bought my favourite vintage Adidas T-shirt for at a Car Boot Sale in Polmadie, Southside, Glasgow. So, I think the conventional idea of charity shopping in this blog can sit back and give way for some car boot thrifting. It was a close friend of mines that introduced me to car boot thrifting, so I dedicate this blog to her. The endless stories of her finding Levi jeans and vintage branded T-shirts then a pair of converse for £3, I was sold, I think anyone would be.  There is an element of excitement to car boot thrifting, my friend told me this and I must confirm.
